FFXIV Gil Tips

FFXIV players need Gil for a variety of purposes, from acquiring new gear and Materia to housing and food. While many methods involve combat, the fastest and most consistent ways to make gil are through crafting and gathering.

Selling items on the Market Board is particularly profitable during major patch updates when more players are online and buying. Also, join a treasure map party whenever possible to maximize your profit!

Level Up Your Crafting and Gathering Classes

In FFXIV, Disciples of the Hand classes—such as a Weaver or Carpenter—provide players with a great way to make money in Eorzea. While leveling a Disciple of the Hand class may seem like an unnecessary time commitment for some players, having one at max level unlocks a whole host of new activities.

Aside from selling items on the Market Board, players can also level their Retainers to 70 and send them on Ventures. While these aren’t the most profitable activity in the game, they can help to supplement a player’s income.

Ventures require a currency called “Venture Tokens,” which can be acquired through Beast Tribe Quests and Guildleves or purchased from a Grand Company vendor. Once a player has enough Tokens, they can start earning the rewards for each Venture completed. While these rewards aren’t the best in the game, they provide a steady stream of in-demand loot that can be sold to other players on the Market Board.

Sell Items on the Market Board

FFXIV players can make a lot of Gil by selling items they don’t need on the Market Board. This is particularly profitable for Jobs that involve item crafting (the Disciples of the Hand) and a few Gathering Jobs like Weaver, Carpenter, and Culinarian. In addition, completing the tribe quests and levemetes for the Beast Tribes will reward players with in-demand materials that can be sold on the Market Board.

One of the best times to sell items on the Market Board is right before and during a major patch. This is when more players are online and checking out the Market Board, which can boost your chances of an instant sale.

However, be careful not to price your items too low. Selling your endgame weapons for pennies could discourage other players from buying them and can actually hurt your profits in the long run. Instead, aim to sell your items for just a few Gil lower than the lowest current sale.

Complete Class Quests

Aiming to level up all your crafting and gathering classes as much as possible is one of the most efficient ways to make Gil. Not only will this ensure that you are equipped with the best gear in the game, but it will also allow you to be a major player when new content drops.

Another good way to make a lot of ffxiv  is through Treasure Maps, which can be purchased on the Market Board for a low price. These maps contain a range of rewards, from XP to valuable materia. It's important to note that a Treasure Map can only be kept by one character at a time, so consider sending it to a friend over mail for safekeeping.

Lastly, players can participate in weekly events that offer a steady stream of Gil. These include the Duty Roulettes, Beastmen quests, and the Challenge Log. Each of these can be done multiple times per week, and will provide you with a reliable stream of income.

Participate in PvP

Since the release of Crystalline Conflict, a lot of new players have been thrown into the PvP arena. This is great for them because the dev team has revamped a lot of aspects of the game's PvP and the newer maps are very profitable, even for low level players.

Treasure Maps are one of the most profitable ways to make gil in FFXIV. This is mainly because the player can do these with a party and have the chance to find a Treasure Map that contains an elite monster that the group can defeat for EXP, Allagan Tomestones or Gil.

Another way to earn a good amount of gil is through Ventures. This is where the player can send out their retainers to complete small quests without any monetary cost or energy expenditure. The more Ventures your retainers complete, the better the rewards. This is a very consistent source of gil in the game, but it does require the player to acquire a Venture currency which is obtained by doing Beast Tribe Quests and Guildleves or by buying it from a Grand Company vendor.
